Galloping Horses
Today I started blocking my Cassidy sweater. All was well until I started blocking the fronts and then I noticed a cable going the wrong way. I am of the galloping horse group - if you can't see it from a galloping horse it's not a problem. Unfortunately this miss cross was center front. You can't miss it from a horse so then came the fix.
I frogged to the beginning of the neck then dropped the three stitches of the cable.
I then worked the stitches back up.
All pieces of Cassidy are now being blocked and tomorrow I hope to work on the hood and button bands. I still don't have buttons so I also need to go look for those tomorrow.

Did I mention I like KAL's?
I listen to podcasts when I walk Jake in the morning and when I go back and forth to work. One of the ones I listen to is 'The Knitmore Girls'. In October they started a KAL for Cassidy by Bonne Marie Burns http://www.chicknits.com/catalog/cassidy.html I started my Cassidy in November. I'm using Vintage by Berroco and really like how it is knitting up. I had to put it aside so I could finish up my Christmas knitting and started working on it again in January. I now have the back finished as well as the sleeves.
I am now feeling very "pretty" as Jasmine and Gigi, the Knitmore Girls, would say after almost getting the two fronts done. I was so excited to be at the shoulders ready to bind off the fronts when I realized I forgot to decrease for the neckline. Now I get to frog two inches of knitting. Yes I'm feeling very pretty!!!
As for the other KAL (see previous post) my Girl Friday is coming along nicely. My back is totally done and I put it on ribbon instead of binding off. The fronts were started Wednesday as I waited to get the oil changed in my car. I have about two inches done. My goal is to stay ahead of the Saturday ladies. Several of the ladies participating in the KAL stopped by Filati's this week and they have been very impressive with their dedication to getting past the armholes.

Girl Friday
I love participating in a KAL (knit along). It really makes me focus on the project and makes me want to keep up with everyone knowing there is a finish line. Saturday at Filati Fine Yarns we started a KAL of the Girl Friday cardigan. http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall09/PATTgirlfriday.php?
We will be meeting every Saturday for two hours each morning at the store until the end of February. The goal for the upcoming week is to knit until you reach the armholes. By the way did I mention I am the taskmaster that gets to decide how far along we need to be each week.
I'm almost there. I am using Berroco Ultra Alpaca which is 50% alpaca and 50% wool.

Knitting?????
Yes, knitting is happening just not as much as I'd like and I seem to forget to take pictures of the finished product. I did get some Christmas knitting done. A bunch of wash cloths, three pair of socks, a sweater promised to a friend for her birthday and several felted oven mitts.
This is a knitted oven mitt before felting and a felted oven mitt.
I am now trying to refocus and re figure my knitting projects. And so my plan for the upcoming year is to address all my WIP'S - works in progress for you non knitters. The plan is to evaluate each WIP and either finish or frog. I will keep you posted as I move forward on this project.
