Years ago when my children were younger and I got tired of hearing "mom", "Mom",
"MOM" I would tell my children I was no longer answering to "mom" - please address me as "Your Highness", "Your Majesty" or "Queen Mom". I even needle pointed a pillow to make sure everyone in the house knew I was serious.

It did create a little bit of quiet for awhile.
Alas my children have grown but I still have my throne.
Actually it's more of a creative throne that I like to sit in and do my handwork.
As with all creative people we don't like to sit and work on one project at a time. Different days means different projects so I like to surround myself with many choices.
Here we have a cowl I am currently knitting on along with some hand piecing for my Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt.
Here is my Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt that I have been working on for over twenty years and finally close to being finished with the top and to the right not in the picture is a Christmas dishcloth I am knitting. Never to early to start on those stocking stuffers.
And here we have the legs to another Mother Bear and to the left in the purple bag is a pair of socks I am knitting for someones birthday.
The weather here in Sacramento has been rather hot, for California in the 90's is hot, and I have been enjoying sitting in my throne working on a little bit of this and that.
Now WHY didn't I think of that? I like Your Majesty… :-)
ReplyDeleteNice throne. :-)
