What's in the box?

One of the perks of living in California is all the wonderful farm fresh produce. After reading about them in the Sacramento Bee, I decided to become a member of Soil Born Farm's CSA which stands for community supported agriculture. Once a week I will be picking up a box of in season vegetables. Today was my first box. There are lots of different kinds of greens this week - spinach, 2 different heads of lettuce, a braising mix with baby kales, collards and chard, a baby lettuce mix, Red Russian Kale - along with Tokyo turnips and spring onions. Besides eating the freshes produce possible I will also be expanding my cooking skills. Tonights dinner will be pork tenderloin with braised Tokyo turnips and a spring mix salad. Yum!!

  1. I was just thinking about starting this as I looked at my empty fridge with no intention of going to the grocery store.
